On March 15th, 2020, Mayor Eric Garcetti mandated that all Los Angeles restaurants and bars close except for take-out and deliveries as part of the effort to curb the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. At the same time, medical professionals in our city’s hospitals have been working around the clock to treat individuals impacted by the virus—often at great risk to their own personal health. Police and fire departments also continue to keep us safe.

My name is Antonio Pellini. I’m from Scandiano, Italy, originally, and I am the founder of Eatalian restaurant group in Gardena and Culver City. Due to the coronavirus emergency, I have had to shut down two locations and, worst of all, I have had to send over 50 of my wonderful employees home. I am fighting to keep the main location, Eatalian Cafe in Gardena, open by focusing on take-out and deliveries, but the volume of orders has to ramp up for us to stay open!
And here we are: I received a request from my friend Joe Buscaino, Los Angeles City Councilmen for the 15th district, asking restaurants to contribute to the fight of this COVID-19 pandemic, and I got the idea to create a way to provide food to the heroes that are saving and protecting lives in the South Bay Area and many other areas across Los Angeles.
We are already providing meals to MLK Hospital in Gardena, as well as several police stations in Gardena and other parts of Los Angeles, and we are planning to provide thousands of others at least to the following hospitals, although with this website, anyone that’s in need can place an order and we will happy to deliver!

MLK Hospital, Gardena – mlkch.org –  since April 20th we started delivering daily on this Hospital.

Police Departments  – since April 22nd we started delivering weekly to some of the Police Departments in the of Gardena-LA Area.

Important note:

We are using all necessary precautions to keep the food safe: all of our staff always work with gloves on, and we serve food on personal to-go containers. We are also happy to accommodate any requests. For example, some hospitals direct us to follow their specific procedures.

I feel the need to state this is a for-profit business, but our goal is not to make any profit, simply to help and contribute to our community, while keeping this business running!

We are hoping to receive a great amount of support from loyal customers and friends who are looking for ways to contribute to the local businesses they love while doing their part to curb the spread of the coronavirus.

The goal of this new initiative is to keep members of our wonderful staff employed, and to pave the way for other LA restaurants to do the same as we work to feed more of our healthcare, police and fire department professionals, who can all truly be defined as heroes. We hope you’ll join us in this effort to keep Los Angeles healthy and well-fed.
